Our present vulnerabilities can be assessed by reviewing our past mistakes. What has worked as a path away from God once (that was 'successful') will be continually attempted as a distraction in our walk with God by the adversaries. Imagine a broken arm that has been healed; yet we know it is still likely to break at the same location if we are not careful. Satan knows every mended part of us and is relentlessly trying to reopen the injuries. Always keep watch of the weaknesses of yourself and those around you--protect them in fervent prayer and always with a spirit of thankfulness. In Jesus name.

AMEN

I love to look up definitions of words I think I know to gain more understanding. One word I thought of today was "religion". Surprisingly, it is not easily defined; so I looked also to the etymology of the word. In short, I deduced that religion is to be bound to in search of salvation through worship. Many people today are bound to the world, specifically technology. We seem to worship our "own" creations, and our sense of knowledge is often externally obtained through blind faith in the wisdom of Google. Is it an accident that the first Apple computer sold had a price of $666 dollars? Is it coincidence their emblem is fruit with a bite missing? We revel in the sleek designs of the phones and the world unity they have created while admiring our very own reflections. Matthew 19:26 says, "With God all things are possible." Is it possible the beast has already been in our head and hands through technology? Is it possible the adversary is a thing and not a person? Food for thought.

Lord, although I participate in the world with the use of smart technology, allow me to rely only on You for wisdom and insight. Let me discern what is appropriate and necessary for the growth of my relationship with You. In Jesus name.

AMEN

Today I was reading the book of Romans. As I was looking closely at chapter 11, I noticed verse 29 which says, "For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable." I pondered the meaning and almost couldn't believe the implications, because the darkness of the flesh in this world wants us to forget, to doubt, and ultimately to lie down. Today I make this case to the Holy One--my Redeemer, my Savior in His mercy, grace, and steadfast love...

Why have people stopped pleading their cases to God--the just judge of all?

  • We are accepting broken promises instead of challenging and appealing to the Highest authority.

  • We allow the devil to win by default when we don't use the Word of God in defense!

  • Would we accept a ticket for stopping on red or going on green?

  • We have faith in earthly things; the faith that gravity will keep us from floating away today, but where is our faith in God's truth?

Lord, let me live a life of peace and security in the surety of Your everlasting promises. In Jesus name! AMEN
