Surprise

Steadfast is His love;

Limitless is His power.

When will He return?

Only He knows the hour.

Sure as the earth spins to show the sun rise;

He will be back as though He's saying, "Surprise!"

The river will flow clear;

We will see Him near.

All knees will hit the floor;

Now, He's at the door.

Angels will sing;

Everyone under their wings.

His Glory will shine bright;

Be it day, or be it night.

I don't care how;

Just embrace me now!

Call of the Holy Spirit

Adversaries(AKA demons) are like unruly children blurting out in class. They are disrespectful, disruptive, and usually incorrect. The Holy Spirit knows the right answer, but waits to be called on with a quietly raised hand. Let's make sure we notice the polite hand raised in our lives and ask for His answer no matter how many distractions attempt to block us.

Employee of God

When He called, I was like whoa;

Is this how it's supposed to go?

Am I even ready?

Do You think I'm steady?

I applied so long ago;

Maybe the review process was slow.

While I was waiting;

I started hating.

Not You, but others--well, I guess that's the same;

Who do I have but myself to blame?

I let the world pull me down and lift me up;

Putting anything but You in my cup.

Now I hear You when You say, "Hey, I'm on My way;"

I just had to quiet down so I could listen as I pray.

You told me I got the job and it's almost time to start;

Something about little me had captured Your big heart.

That's when I knew it was time to begin;

Starting with being freed from my sin.

Jesus took care of that when He died for all;

With His help I cannot fall.

Now, I worry that I might fail;

But He's already blazed the trail.

Lighting a fire, and clearing a path since time began;

I never need to question His plan.

So, why do I question myself?

My Boss is always willing to help.

I need to trust that at this job, I can't go wrong;

And this is only because He has made me strong!
