That question is like asking, "Would you rather wear your skis in water while being pulled by a boat, or attempt to walk with them on land?"

When God is leading our lives, the water will sometimes be smooth, and other times choppy, but He will never let us sink. Never doubt God's goodness and the loving care He has taken in the planning of your life. Don't drop the rope that connects to the boat. He is leading you to a place more beautiful than any human can imagine!

AMEN

Have you ever been drawn to go see a movie because it has an all-star cast, only to be disappointed? Each actor thinks they have the "star power", but it ends up being just a muddle of egos oftentimes. Then you see a movie with just one recognizable actor, and it turns out great. That one actor was able to lead the others without confusion, creating something inspiring to view and enjoy. In our world, we all have the capacity to view ourselves as the main star, with everyone around us to simply support our endeavors. In a sense, we are all acting in our own scene of a movie called "Life", but we shouldn't be the star, or even a recognizable actor, Jesus has that role. God wrote the movie at the creation of time and has watched everyone play their roles, from Adam to whoever the last man born on earth will be. He has seen all the triumphs and failures we will have along the way, and He has given us all a means to achieving a fairy-tale ending by sacrificing His Son for our sins.

Today I pray to rest in the comfort that God is holding my hand in my walk through life. I pray for contentment and joy during times of plenty, and unwavering faithfulness to those same emotions during times of need--knowing, that in those times, God is confirming my importance to Him by allowing me to stay true, and without doubt in any circumstance, knowing it is for my growth and purification.

AMEN

Our time on earth is like a cross country road trip. We have many choices for our stops along the way. We must decide where to go for lodging, food, and gas--maybe even hit a few tourist stops. Some of these stops are not as ideal as we'd like, but we are in and out, and quickly back on the road. Other stops are more enticing than we would have imagined, and it takes longer than planned to get through, and back on our journey. We need to be careful not to confuse a pit stop as our destination. In doing so, we will miss out on something truly amazing.
