Why are you angry?

When we stand up to fight;

Who is giving us our might?

It doesn't come from the Lord;

He is the opposite of discord.

Who is telling us the words that will hurt the most?

Certainly not the Holy Ghost.

If we try to take down others;

We aren't being kind to our brothers.

Is it helpful to lash out in anger?

You're the one who's in real danger.

Think before you speak;

Remember how Jesus said to be meek?

Know that eternity is what you should seek.

Don't try for some witty reply;

That points out a speck in your sister's eye.

First, think about what you can't see;

Push those thoughts from the devil aside and say, "Jesus, stand with me!"

Trust Your Gut

We all have God's will written in our hearts from the moment He creates us. It is no longer like ancient times, when people did as they saw best in their own eyes. God's new covenant, or promise, allows us to inherently understand right versus wrong as He sees it. That being said, if something doesn't feel right, it's not right! We need to not just trust our gut, but rely on it with our lives because that's what's at stake.

Behold This

You wonder why you feel so old?

Don't they say beauty is in the eye of the one who beholds?

So you say you're fat because your jeans got tight?

Now your self image doesn't feel right.

You look in the mirror and see something wrong;

Maybe you should cover up with a sarong.

Look at that spot right under your eye;

Let's give some more make-up a try.

What should you do about that scar under your knee?

Wear a long skirt then no one will see.

These thoughts don't come from a place of love and support;

They come from shame and doubt--I must report.

Who would want you to be ashamed of how you appear?

She, he, or it is always near.

Doubt comes from below;

Where they have no glow.

You were born with a light;

A vision that was created just right.

Thank God for who you are;

Even with the scar.

He made you to be more breathtaking than the best sunset;

So why do you bother to fret?
