My Promise

I'm just thinking back on all we've been through;

I remember all the messed up things I did to You.

How'd I get everything so wrong?

And for so long!

Forty seven years of my life;

The last half so busy trying to be a pleasing wife.

Even trying my best at that;

The marriage got a flat.

Once again I was on my own;

And all I did was complain and moan.

The one good thing I did do;

Was reaching out to You.

You came when I was still blind;

With this earth the focus of my mind.

You saw me beg and plead;

For so much I didn't need.

When all I needed was strength from You;

And a purity that is true.

No "man" can fill my day;

Just The Man and it's to Him I pray.

I love You more than words can say;

I pray to never again lose my way, or go astray!

Did that scare you?

Why do so many seek out fear?

Almost wanting and wishing for a ghost to be near.

Movies make kids afraid of the dark;

Scared to lay alone in their rooms, or startled when they hear a dog bark.

What is the boogie monster, or a doll that can walk?

It is us giving the evil one the ability to talk.

Instead of invisibly whispering in our ears;

We stare at our TV's or phones, and it's his voice we hear.

How hard is it to find programs devoted to Jesus?

Is it because those can no longer please us?

We require so much to be entertained;

And in the end, nothing is gained.

No wonder so many people question how they should pray;

Or why they are on this earth everyday.

There is a Book that answers all we want to know;

Parts of it have made it in a few shows.

The Bible is the Book to read;

In whole, or in parts, it will help you with exactly what you need.

Things we do, read, or watch should be useful and bring joy;

Otherwise it's just an enticing, but evil, ploy.

Anything's Possible

Uncertainty is the gift of possibility.

It is the present you didn't know you wanted until it's opened.

Not knowing is what makes an adventure exciting.

What fun would Hide and Seek be without the "seeking"?

We have the power to accomplish anything with possibility.

Each failure is a learning experience for future success.

Such a burden it would be to foreknow each mistake and tragedy we would ever endure.

What a heavy weight, if we knew all the good AND bad things friends or passing strangers thought of us.

The uncertainty we have is one of the greatest blessings God has given us.

He has taken the burden of knowing ALL for our sakes.

Thank you God for making my life one of endless possibilities.
