Clouds Overhead

The storm comes in, and the hail sweeps down;

We see the power of God all around.

High in the sky, the sun is still shining bright;

No matter if it's day or night--somewhere there's light.

Yet we still just see the dark clouds looming,

And the thunder keeps booming.

Some of us are afraid,

We think of the messes that could be made.

Just remember the light,

He takes away fright.

Everything is done with a purpose and is planned;

Even the trees that fall, and those that will stand.

Let's sit in the rain staying in the moment of now;

All else will happen--we mustn't worry how.

Shame is the Name of the Game

Shame is a game that's played with our heads,

Maybe you get it from something you did in a bed.

It may be that time you stole or you lied;

Or when you were the reason someone cried.

Even those things you did as a kid,

You wish could be hid.

When it festers inside shame soon turns to guilt,

Now look at the pit you have built.

Something keeps reminding you of all that you've done;

It's a web that's been spun.

You can see a spider on it's way;

Death is looming, but is this the price you should pay, when you know the answer is to pray?

Was the shame and the guilt really that bad?

Now, you may say, "Yes, and I'm just so sad!"

Remember that Jesus died for our sins,

And He hopes everyone wins.

Don't let His sacrifice be null while you lay in your pit;

Realize that satan wants you to throw a fit.

The devil whispers in your ears,

And knows all your fears.

Let the Bible see you through,

It's really so easy to do.

Just say you're sorry with all your heart;

Now look, you're ready for a fresh start!

God is Good

Without having fallen,

How would we know we'd risen?

If we can't make a mistake,

What would be the need for a date?

A man who says, "I am no sinner!",

Is guilty of sin as he sits down to dinner.

We may have been created to win and succeed;

But we will have many trials indeed.

"What will we win?", are you asking me?

Read the promises in the Bible and you will see.

For God doesn't lie,

Although He sees us try.

Remember that God knows your heart and head,

He wants nobody dead.

Just heed His warning--the road to Heaven is narrow, and difficult to get in;

The road to hell is wide, and we're all a shoe-in!
