I have thought quite a bit recently about being lost. I remember the feeling of getting lost as a child. I know how good it feels when we find our loved ones--the panic is instantly transformed to relief and gratitude. So, who are the "lost" that the Bible speaks of? The easy answer is that they are the people that don't know God, but maybe even more than that, they are the ones that do! I brainstormed three ways to represent that thought, pick your preference:

  • You can only be truly lost after having initially been found.

  • You have to know where home is to wander away from it.

  • Being lost in the dark is far worse than simply being in darkness.

Beauty is all around us. If a person was born blind do you think God would have deprived them from the experience of beauty--the kind that touches and moves the soul? Of course not! They may feel and interact with beauty through the sound of a baby laughing or the feel of a cool breeze against their skin on a warm day; maybe by a comforting embrace, the smell of something that reminds them of home, or even a soothing texture. Don't put limits on the beauty that is surrounding you by placing it solely in the sense of vision.

AMEN

We can see so much gazing out at a horizon; from the sights we see in front of us, all the way to our periphery. A mirror is limiting by comparison--relying on just two dimensions and capturing only a set frame. Discern the Christ centered people around you, and heed what they see in you, because they have a broader perspective than you have of yourself.

AMEN
