A Job to Live For

As people, we are always striving to attain abilities we were not naturally given. We want to do things that the most basic insect can--we find ways to fly, walk up walls, hear better, or see to great distances. Some mammals can see extremely well at night, others use echolocation. We have developed our technologies based on these things we see in nature. Yet, a common housefly has far more abilities than we do. Another thing these animals and insects do naturally is an instinctual job without complaint, and they have a place to sleep, eat, and gather at no monetary cost. We have a major advantage that puts us at the top of the animal kingdom (given all the disadvantages), and that is our brain. Our ability to think, reason, plan, build, and more importantly to love. So what is our instinctual job that will ensure our care and survival? I believe we have been designed to praise and love God. No other creature can do this in a way we can observe, although the Bible states in Romans 8:21-22, "We know that the whole creation has been groaning..." and that "...creation itself will be liberated..." I pray the LORD frees me from the unnecessary desires of this world. I pray to simplify my course and remember that every day I already have all that I need through His grace. In Jesus name.

AMEN
