I'd rather laugh at myself than be in awe of myself.
What is beauty? Is it a face we sometimes see in the mirror that resembles something we might see on TV or in a magazine? I used to think so--I don't think I even admitted that to myself though. Now, I understand that it is what comes from within that determines true beauty, or ugliness for that matter. In my rebirth to Jesus I saw myself differently. I can't say I stopped caring about the things I used to, but those thoughts are becoming less and less, while their motives have become increasingly clear. The world (the devil), wants us to hold onto an external value for our understanding of beauty, because he is well aware of how fleeting and temporary that measurement is in the span of a life. Let your goodness be your beauty! Let the kindness of your heart shine through your eyes--nothing can take this away.
AMEN
