What now God?

Sometimes when I pray;

The answer seems so far away.

I think I'm being put on hold;

I wonder if it's something being done to scold.

God doesn't function like that I know;

There must be somewhere in my life I need to grow.

Maybe the wish I have doesn't lead me in the right direction;

I might be missing an unknown connection.

This world can be so cold and confusing;

How long must I keep musing?

Why can't God be more direct?

I don't want to make a choice I will regret.

He's let me go in a way that felt wrong before;

Just to show me a better door.

Some days I feel like He has given me the key;

Other's it seems like I can barely see.

My wisdom sometimes fades in and out;

My head gets full of doubt.

Fear and stress creep around;

It's like I'm getting pulled underground.

Lord please hear my prayers and lead me through;

I feel so small and I don't know what to do.

I know you hear;

and that I shouldn't fear.

Please touch my heart;

Give me a fresh start.

"I ______ You!"

I love You more than any word on earth could convey;

There must be a word for love in Heaven that might be right to say.

It's more than "adore";

You know I love You to my core.

"A lot" sounds like nothing;

Especially because You control my heart's pumping.

"So much" isn't right either;

It sounds overly eager.

Your love is patient, calm, and gentle;

To say "I cherish You" sounds too sentimental.

Your love is forgiving, steady, and firmly rooted;

Loving You is effortless and unpolluted.

You are above, beside, below, and with me;

Your light above gives warmth and tranquility.

How is it there's not a word to describe the power of Your love?

It's wonderful and sent from Heaven above.

So I must ask You a favor;

I pray You fill in the blank with a word to truly savor.

"I love You" can't be right;

"Love" just doesn't reach the height.

My feelings for You come with the promise of eternity You see;

So please fill in the blank for me!

"I ______ You!"

I AM My Brother's Keeper

Why would we say, "I'm not my brother's keeper" to anyone?

Isn't that what Cain said when he had come undone?

Jealousy told him to take the life of his brother;

Then to shift the blame from himself to another.

God knew what he did;

The shed blood could not be hid.

We shouldn't live our lives with greed;

Instead, give to those in need.

Jesus gave His life for sinners to have saving grace;

Not to steal, kill, mock, and replace.

Humanity is not disposable;

Recall that God designed our thumbs to be opposable.

He wants us to be of use to each other;

Helping, and even dying, for a sister or a brother.

We "keep" our family on earth;

And God's been the keeper of all since He made Adam from dirt.

One day we will all return to the ground;

That means we must do our best while we're around.

It won't be the end of course;

If we're lucky we'll see God on His white horse.
